Jake: (rescued by co-worker, alone outside of a restaurant.) Assigned birthdate of Thanksgiving, 2005.
Elwood: (rescued with mom and siblings by friend of co-worker from under a neighbors house.) Assigned birthdate of Summer Solstice, 2006.
They get along with each other just fine.
Finnegan: (passed away in his sleep 3/11/2006, 18 years old).
Finnegan showed up as a tiny ball of fur at the top of the inside stairwell where I was living
at the time. No one knows how he managed to get inside the heavy double doors or ascend the stairs,
much less how he knew a cat person lived there.
Thomas: (euthanized 12/31/2004, age-related illness, 15 years old).
Literally a dumpster cat. We found him scrounging around the apartment dumpster for food.
Several years later, he disappeared and was gone for about a year, until one night while
dropping off mail at the post office (5 miles away), I saw across the street in my headlights
a cat hanging around a dumpster behind a strip mall. I headed over and as I got out of the
truck for a better look, I half-incredulously said "Thomas?" and he came running straight
for me.
Catherine (with young Thomas): Illness.
Oscar (with baby Thomas): Went to live with his mom when our relationship ended.
Oreo: The cat who defeated a Labrador.
Shadow: Fished out from under an apartment building (using the Bacon Technique™) and adopted out.
